This Privacy Policy explains how Lantern VPN (referred to as 'this Service' or 'we') collects, uses, and protects personal information when you download, install, or use the mobile VPN application (referred to as the 'App'). The service is provided as is, and we work within this policy to protect your privacy and security.

When you download and launch the App, we may collect operational data required for the service to function, including your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device operating system version, in-app paths, session duration, and connection diagnostics. To recommend suitable routes and improve connection quality, we may also process approximate device location. This data is used to: 1. recommend connection options based on Lantern VPN node distribution; 2. analyze regional connection quality through anonymized aggregate data; and 3. send important service updates, security notices, or subscription reminders to your registered email or username.

We only transmit anonymized or aggregated operational data to necessary third-party providers, such as Google Play Services and Firebase, for crash analysis, performance monitoring, and product improvement. Except where required by legal process, regulation, user safety, fraud investigation, or entrusted service providers under confidentiality obligations, we do not share personally identifiable information with third parties. To stop new data collection, you may uninstall the App through your device's standard process.

User-provided data is retained during the active service period and for a reasonable period afterward. To cancel your account or delete your profile, contact our privacy team at [email protected]. The App is not intended for children under 13; if we discover that such information was collected inadvertently, we will delete it as soon as possible. We use account access controls, transmission encryption, and operational safeguards to protect data confidentiality.

This Privacy Policy may be updated for legal, product, or operational reasons. Please review this page periodically. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
